Happy Thanksgiving!

Character turns are incredibly difficult. This one particularly for Lucias gave me a run for my money.  This pretty much consumed my day, but I did of course take a break for turkey and a wonderful Thanksgiving feast prepared by mom.  It was funny though that even amidst my frustration, I was having a ball drawing this character. I caught myself laughing a few times as the ideas for his design leaked onto the page, and it made me realize how thankful I am that art is a part of my life. I know this sounds kind of cheesy being thanksgiving and all, but I'm sure those of you who go to SCAD will agree that even though creating good art is an extreme challenge, it's incredibly rewarding. It truly is my greatest passion in life. Having the ability to express and to create simply using pencil and paper brings me such joy. God's greatest ability is that of creation, and it's exciting to think that he has chosen me to share a minute portion of that capability. So today I'm thankful for art (as cheesy as that sounds); I'm thankful for all my friends both at home and in Savannah that encourage, support, and care for me; I'm thankful for my parents, my brothers, and my extended family who never once questioned my decision to pursue an artistic career; I'm thankful for my professors who inspire me; but most of all, I'm thankful for my Lord and Savior, whose love I can always relay on. I am not worthy. Take care everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday.

Matt, I've never seen your drawings before. I really like them!

I also like what you had to say here. Can I share it with the admission staff? This is the kind of thing that inspires US.
