Our next project for Visual Storytelling is three pages from a Bartman comic. We were offered the choice of whether we wanted to use the original characters, re-design the characters in a cartoon style, or re-design the characters in a realistic style. After a tedious experience working with the simpsons characters last quarter, I decided to re-design the characters. I've been having some trouble with character design recently, getting characters to look unique from other characters I've drawn in the past. If I'm not thinking I tend to reuse the same shapes in my design work, and that is unacceptable. Needless to say, this was good practice. Here are the finished products.
